WOW, if ever you wanted to escape to an Island Paradise, one of SAOTA’s latest green architecture projects, Miska Resort Estate on the Island of Mahe in the Seychelles has GOT to be it! Situated on the Fairyland peninsula, 10 minutes from the airport and 20 min from Victoria, this resort is going to be spectacular.
Consisting of a Hillside resort as well as 50 private residences, SAOTA have designed Miska Resort Estate to conform to it’s surrounding environment, becoming at once part of as well as standing out from the gorgeous natural back drop.
The Hillside resort, nestled just below the coastal road and comprising of 20 suites, the business and conferencing facilities, will make full use of the dramatic boulder formations on site, utilising understated architecture to make these behemoth Stones the focal point of the development.
Further along the peninsula, SAOTA have placed a fully equipped spa within the borders of a natural circular clearing. The spa itself is then further connected to a stunning pool area comprising of the pools and also a pool bar. Selectively positioned around the boulders to maximise their sculptural perfection this entire area consists of water features and the same understated architecture upon which the main building is based.
The private residences of the Miska Resort estate are all located above the coastal road so as to offer the residents some privacy from the public areas. These buildings too have been very carefully placed within the natural environment so as to fully benefit from, without compromising, the spectacular natural views and features. They are even raised on stills to have less impact on the site.
SAOTA’s latest green architectural project of course sports the latest in green principles of design in order to minimise environmental impact. Designed to utilise ample natural light and cross ventilation, it’s vertical screens and narrow spaces keep visitors cool! SAOTA have also made use of green energy systems like Solar water Heating and photo voltaic panels to minimize on their latest resorts reliance on the local infrastructure.
Overall we think SAOTA’s latest architectural project a dream come true! Beautiful, minimal, Green and luxuriant, we’ll take 2 please!
