It’s always fun to decorate a boys bedroom with a theme. It makes the room far more interesting and, if you listen to or observe the childs’ interests you can design the theme to be a little educational too. With girls, ballet themes for budding ballerinas and horse themes for aspiring show jumpers are great, with boys it’s the same. If they are into sports, go for their favourite sport, if they like boats or fishing, pick that!
This blog is for those boys who dream of adventures! For your aspiring pirate, astronaut or adventurer, take a look at these lovely adventure themes for boys bedrooms.
Below, in the picture on the left is a fabulous example of a pirate themed bedroom! The decor is simple, the pirate posters, pirate and history paraphernalia on the shelves and the subtle wall paper strip on the walls is sufficient to make this a very “pirate” room! The picture on the left is perfect for your keen archaeologist or Jurassic Park enthusiast! This mural might frighten some kids, but for the dinosaur lover the tyrannosaur busting through the wall is just awesome!
So many boys dream of being astronauts! Here is a stunning example of how you can make this theme work in your little boy’s room. This room is very contemporary and modern so it looks trendy and fun. I love the furniture accents in primary red and blue contrasted with the start white of the walls and structures. Most lovely is the digital image of the astronaut in space covering the cupboard.
This room is designed for the jungle adventurer and eager zoo keeper. I love the detailed jungle scene in the background with its intrecately painted leaves, vines and jungle creatures. What is especially nice, and also unusual, is that the mural painter has made the background colour a lovely yellow to match the bedding rather than an ordinary blue or green.
This bedroom is a little pilots dream! Designed in a very modern eclectic way, this room is just wonderful. The wall is full of pictures of old school aeroplanes in various white frames which go beautifully with the white framed furniture. I love the black and white aeroplanes on the sidetables and the model hanging from the roof. The rest of the room is blue and brown, great colours for a little boy to grow into!

Double awesome…
