You’d swear Edward Scissorhands got his hands on this next range of carpets. These carpets feature intricately carved designs in a range of configurations forming Brabetz’s sculptured collection. Fancy a kaleidoscope of 3D boxes, a carpet that looks like an amoeba, or a flower made from leaves? These guys can make your unique visions a reality. Don’t believe it? See below!
Now, of course, carpets aren’t made from ice, wood, or any other material ideal for sculpting. So how does Brabetz do it? Basically, their experts have cleverly arranged the carpet pile at different heights to create a textured pattern. These piles are either looped or cut resulting in different effects. A mixture of high and low pile fibers arranged in a particular configuration allows for endless possibilities. These next Brabetz designs are just a few of them.
We were particularly drawn to the one that looks like a flower made from leaves. The beauty of this Brabetz sculptured rug lies in the vein detail on each leaf in brown, tan, and blue-grey shades. A lone leaf at the centre makes up the disc of the flower head. Each of the surrounding “petals” fan outwards in a seemingly organic manner like their tips are curving in the blowing wind.
Another noteworthy rug of this Brabetz collection has a 3D appeal to it. Boxes seem to be coming out of a point on the top left of the rug. The background is black as if these boxes were being beamed from some far off place in space.
