Boys bedrooms need to be both fun and functional, practical and interesting. They need lots of storage space for toys and curiosities, shelves for books and cupboard space for their constantly growing clothes and shoes!
Bright colours are fabulous for stimulating young minds so primary colours are always a great idea for boys rooms. If you are looking for modern and funky designs for boys bedrooms that wioll fit into a contemporary home, and that incorporate bright colours, here are some great design ideas!
Here the decorator has used a gorgeous dark blue, sunshine yellow and a little icy pale blue for the walls and furniture. This room looks fresh and neat with tonnes of built in cupboard and storage space for the young man’s toys, books and sporting paraphernalia.
The colours here are fun and funky, and the furniture design is very simple and geometric. The cupboards above the bed remind me of tetris blocks! I love the use of contrasting malachite kingfisher blue and vivid orange for the cupboards, bed and shelving. It looks especially great against the sunshine yellow of the back wall. What adds a little fun t this room is the gorgeous circle carpets on the floor which add to the feel of geometric-ness in the room!
In this room the designer has been very clever with space. All the primary colours feature, yellow being the most prominent, but perhaps the thing that makes this room the most interesting is the furniture placement. I love the way in which the boy’s bed has been placed above his built in cupboards. This provides him with a fun hidey hole type bed space, like a tree house in feeling!
I love the bold red cupboards in this image. Again, this designer has been clever with his or her use of space. This design is perfect for compact spaces and small bedrooms. The cupboards are stacked neatly going upward to provide plentiful storage space, while the shelving and bed are niched and set into the wall fittings.
