Little children require lots of stimulation in their bedrooms to encourage learning. This is especially important during their formative years. For this reason, parents generally make every effort to create environments for their children that are cheerful and stimulating. And of course the fact that it’s fun to design bright, colourful, themed children’s bedrooms that allow us to relive our own childhoods just a little has nothing to do with it!

Once your child is out of the cot it’s time to start thinking about beds. There are a variety of beds to choose from for your little ones, but perhaps the most fun option is a little themed bunk bed. Bunk beds are built nowadays in so many varieties that you have plenty to choose from. They come in all sorts of sizes now too, so you can get a little one for your little one, with safety rails etc so your child will be perfectly secure. And they can be adapted to any theme you choose in your child’s bedroom, all you need is a little inspiration and a few ideas!

Here are a couple fabulous examples of what you can do with bunk beds for your growing little one:

For your little princess here is a low level bunk complete with safety rails and safety stairs! Not only is this bunk bed set adorable, but it has built in storage with the funky step drawers, side table and long drawer under the bed. Don’t miss the little shelving set under the stairs too. The designer didn’t miss a trick with this little bed. Of course this needn’t be just for girls… remove the pink, add some blue or green, and voila, boys bunk bed set instead!

How about this little themed bunk bed! What could be cuter for a little boys, or a little girls, than to sleep inside or on top of a little red bus, fire engine or lorry!

This is another great example of a cute themed bedroom for little children. I love the tent over the top bunk and the walls around the bottom bunk, giving the child a little hidey hole to snuggle and play in. For any of you who used to build bed sheet fortresses in your bedrooms, this is that, but ready-made!

And once your little one is a bit older and ready for full sized bunk beds, here is a great example of how you can modify regular bunk beds to fit with extraordinary themed bedrooms!
