When we think little girls we think pink right? Right. Pink is the standard, the norm, the traditional for little girls. It’s how we tell new born girls from new born boys, by the colours they are swaddled or dressed in, yes? But nowadays we’re less about traditional and more about individuality.
SO how does this effect children’s décor? Well, while most folks will still choose pink for girls and blue for boys, it means that we can now consider all sorts other options for our children. And it means that our children, if they are not keen on the traditional or standard have more to choose from too!
For those of you out there who want to do something a little different for your girls bedroom décor, take a look at these bright and funky alternatives to pink!
This first bedroom is simply gorgeous! The decorator has used a fabulously vivid combination of regal purple and deep orange in a very funky, contemporary style! The contrasting colours backed by that lovely clean white really pops in terms of colour. What also looks fantastic is that beautifully selected sunset image wall paper which blends perfectly with the colour scheme.
Soft lavender and lime green is a fantastic colour combination! The contrast of soothing lavender purple and vibrant lime green really makes this room feel very funky. Against the backdrop of clean white, this colour combo gives this room a very fresh, clean contemporary feel. I particularly love the subtle birdcage themed wall motif and décor.
This bright orange and vivid red girls bedroom is very funky! The green accents also make the orange and red pop! I love the way the décor is all about fun flowers and fruit with flower mobiles, painted motifs and those apple headboards which are just so much fun! The colours look lovely with the natural wood finished floors and fittings. Very homely and funky all at once!
