So while I have dwelled a great deal on the princess and fairy themes that are most popular for little girl’s themed bedrooms, this does not mean to say that there are not a multitude of other wonderful themes for little girls out there!

If you find the princess or fairy theme over done, or if you and your daughter are just not that into them, fear not! There are other wonderful themes around to consider. Here are a couple lovely theme ideas for girl’s bedrooms with not a princess or fairy in sight!

One of the hottest trends in all home décor this season is the boho French parisienne look. So why not incorporate it into your little girls’ bedroom? I mean, what little girl doesn’t dream of visiting Paris, the romance capital of the world? In this bedroom, the decorator has designed the room to look like a little street café in Paris complete with pink and black striped café awning and Eiffel tower! I love the way the little tea party table in the middle of the room echoes the one painted on the wall.

Many little girls love ballet, or any form of dancing, and it’s not unusual for girls to go to dance classes from a young age. Boys do sports, girls dance. So if your young lady is an aspiring ballerina why not decorate her bedroom with ballet inspired furniture. This all pink bedroom has ballerinas painted on the walls. A lovely touch is the pair of point slippers on the bed that match the pink satin linen, and the pale pink princess canopy that looks a bit like the pink netting used in tutus.

Another favourite occupation of little girls is horse riding, so many girls fall in love with the idea of horses or having their own ponies. If your daughter is horse mad, and is privileged enough to go for lessons or own her own pony, then why not select a lovely horse theme for her bedroom. In this bedroom the colour scheme is white, pale pink gingham and soft green, always a lovely choice for girls, and of course a billion quilted ponies! There are horse toys all over the room, but the sweetest touch is the collection of pony competition rosettes above the bed.
