I have done an article or two on this already, but honestly, I just can’t get enough of all these gorgeous little girls bedrooms. The princess theme is simply one of those themes that you can go on with forever! There are just so many ways in which to turn your little girls bedroom into her own private princess haven!
In a previous article I touched on the different ways and styles in which to convert a girls room into a princess theme. I looked at the traditional and the contemporary, funky and sweet. but here are as couple of the most wonderfully romantic, really fairytale type little girls bedrooms I’ve come across. So if this is the style you are keener on creating for your little girl, then take a look at these for inspiration:
The main feature of this all pink princess room is the beautiful carriage shaped princess bed. I’m not quite sure whether to call it a four poster bed, as it doesn’t quite fit the traditional mould, but it is certainly close! Your little girl will feel so cosy and secure in this little bed with its beautiful shape and stunning, completely closable curtains, even if they are see through! This bed looks like it came straight out of a fairytale!
This is the ultimate in princess decorations! An actual princess castle complete with balcony, sweeping staircase and tower turrets! All built around a gorgeous little enclosed bed. The designer has cleverly designed the towers to double up as both decoration and storage by adding shelving. All they need to add now is a beautiful landscape mural on the back wall and this fantasy princess bedroom will be complete!
Of course the princesses we know the best are out of Disney fairytales and movies. Sleeping beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, these are all the princesses that we grew up with and now young girls can add Ariel and the frog princess to this list. So it makes sense that one of the loveliest princess themes to recreate is that of a romantic Disney Princess. In this image, the decorator has opted for a very beautiful Frog Princess theme. The mural on the wall is exquisitely executed, and I love the way the linen and furniture has been selected to subtly reflect the colours of the mural! Beautiful and very romantic!

Mmmm
Hi, I live the princess and the frog theme and I am trying to create the same feel for my daughter. have looked for the nightstands, cannot find them, also do you know what color paint is?
Thanks!
Ericka
Hi Ericka,
I’m not sure what paint was used in the actual image, but it is a soft lilac or lavender colour that should be relatively easy to match if you pick up some paint swatches from your local hardware store.
And as for the side lamps, your best bet is to look for simple green light fittings and buy the white lampshades separately. Green is a fairly popular colour this season, so just keep your eye out at all your local furniture or accessory shops.
I hope this helps.
Hi Jodi
The carriage shaped princess bed is absolutely out of this world. Where could I find one of these and also the pretty butterflies on the wall.
Thanks.
Hi Lisa,
The carriage shaped bed is truly spectacular. I think in SA though you would need to have it made specifically buy an iron working expert like a black smith or wrought iron worker. Again, if you take the picture to a professional they should be able to come up with a similar design.
I wouldn’t be able to tell you where to get the butterflies specifically, but i trawl those gorgeous cheap chinese shops, you know the ones that have a bijillion things to look at in about a metre squared’s worth of space, and also flea markets often for this kind of thing. I have seen similar butterflies to these at shops like that. They really are treasure troves if you have a creative eye and can picture the items in a different context! But you could also try toy stores and decor shops, even garden nurseries have butterflies similar to these from time to time.
Hi there Jodi,
Where can you buy these beds from?
Hi Vicky,
As i mentioned to Lisa, I haven’t seen any specific stockists for this beautiful bed or anything like it. I think in SA you would probably need to commission the bed. But in saying that, I’m sure there are boutique furniture stores or antique furniture stores that might yield something similar.
