Gardens are wonderful. They are the perfect way of holding a little piece of Eden close to you, of having a private space to reconnect with mother earth and of bringing a little bit of nature into your home. Society as a whole is returning to nature consciousness in a big way, and gardening is one of those pastimes on the rise. But not everyone has a big area to garden, and not everyone wants the stock standard lawn and flower bed! Here are some really awesome design ideas for gardens using upcycled objects to create your garden!
An awesome upcycled design idea for your garden that I have seen more than once is the use of an old bath tub! If you can find an old bath tub, particularly the ball and claw type, these make perfect flower pots substitutes and work especially well for spall courtyard gardens or areas where there is not a great deal of space. A great design idea for a funky look is to mosaic or paint the bath tub.
If you have no garden space at all but still want to grow your own vegetables and herbs, here is a seriously awesome upcycled design idea for your garden. You know those canvas door hanging things for stashing shoes and other bits and pieces in your wardrobe? Well you can fill it with soil, hanging it on the back of your kitchen door or your outside wall and plant your veggies! I think this design idea is brilliant!
Now this is a very awesome upcycled design idea for your garden! Especially if you have an old arm chair you don’t know what to do with! Here someone has replaced the upholstery of an old armchair with a gorgeous moss and ground cover bed. The plants grow happily both horizontally or vertically. Painting the chair frame is also a great idea, particularly for a funky garden. I love this idea.
Now here is someone with a whole lot of imagination! Talk about a fantastic and quirky way of upcycling old kitchen appliances! Some clever person here has used old washing machines and other kitchen appliances to create a funky wall of garden!
