Red has, until recently, very rarely been considered for interior décor, and even then only by the boldest few. Yet red is a fabulous colour for creating warmth, energy, a cozy, intimate or welcoming environment.
This year we are seeing more and more people stepping out of their red closets and using this fabulous and vivid colour in bolder and more interesting ways! It has been included in this seasons’ winter décor palette and we think this is a fabulous addition! Can you think of a warmer colour to chase away the winter chill? Nor can we!

A great décor idea for redecorating your living room is to use wall paper. In this image the decorator has used a wonderful rich red and white floral print. The colour has then been accented through the room with scatter cushions and an ottoman in the same shade.
The rich red tones of this wall work fantastically with the contrasting modern and plush white furniture. The colour is picked up again in the carpet and also in the five symmetrical framed swatches of colour on the wall. If you are looking for a plush yet contemporary feel, this is a great décor idea!
This dining room demonstrates great décor ideas using rich reds in a different way. Instead of painting the wall red, the decorator has opted for a clean white wall with red furniture and accents. The dining room chairs have be reupholstered in a wonderful rich red, and the table has been dressed with matching table runners and flowers. Behind this, the wall has a great collection of different paintings, frames and photos, all of which tie in with either the wooden table or the red of the furniture.

The first combination of red and floral patterns with the ottoman theme is great but the others are a little too busy
