We love the loft-styled Newlands home that Mint Designer Renovations got there hands on. They did a splendid job at upgrading the dilapidated finishes, creating a superb living, entertaining an sleeping space. Now, this house looks like it never experienced a shabby day in its life!
Cement and wood were a main feature in this house’s design, to which the Mint DEsigner Renovations team added a bit of stone, glass and a fresh coat of paint. The kitchen was revamped using colored glass, to the tune of red, that complimented the face brick arch and walls nearby. This glass also contrasted very well with the dark, wooden cabinets and the grey steel extractor fan and stove.
Upstairs, the Mint team exploited the wood beams in the bedroom ceiling. They were given a fresh coat of white paint while the rawness of the planks in between remained untouched. A skylight was also installed to open the space up and bring natural light in. The space was further opened up with a large wall mirror placed above the bed.
Outside, a functional entertainment area was created. The Mint Designer Renovations team installed a clever wooden bar-like structure that housed a tree. Bar stools are arranged around this making it a great surface for drinks and so on. Nearby lies a water feature that trickles out of stone slabs, creating a calm environment for guests who choose to sit around the patio table in front of it. Wooden fencing brings balance on each side of the fountain.
