Wallpaper has, until fairly recently, been the realm of bad 1970’s movies and vintage Victorian period dramas. However, wallpaper has experienced a revival of stupendous proportions over the last few seasons. No longer do we need to consider only paint and stencils when wanting to do something interesting with our wall décor, now we have an entire range exciting, interesting and beautiful wall papers to choose from.
This season has also seen the rehashing of certain fabrics and textures that have been relegated to the back corners of our minds over the last few years. The most interesting of these newly rehashed textures and fabrics has got to be damask!
Damask is gorgeous, with it’s flowing and repetitive abstract floral patterns. Modern damasks are also available in an incredible range of patterns and colours, so now you have the choice of going with an elegant and vintage style, or something a little more hot and funky!
Here are some gorgeous examples of hot and funky damask wall papers and how to use them:
Here we see a fantastic damask wallpaper in winters hottest colour, ice blue. It is particularly elegant in this image in combination with soft greys and silvers. Very Hot!

You can really heat up the bedroom with this hot pink and black damask wall paper. This modern spin on the old and time honoured pattern and in combination with the eclectic mix of furniture and other textures in this bedroom are really hot!
Here is a super funky twist to the standard damask patters, teal and lime green, with a satin sheen is incredibly funky and goes so well with another of this season’s top trends: eclecticism.
This blue on blue patterned damask is wonderfully eclectic, especially in combination with the vibrant red leather couch and lantern style lamp shades. Super hot!

Never been a wallpaper fan… but yes, I agree that it is a really hot bedroom design.
