If you’re ever short of inspiration for your home restoration project, Mint Designer Renovations has a few ideas up it’s sleeve. Of course, they’re always open to your suggestions – you’re the client, afterall! But shoud you hit a brick wall, the Mint Designer Renovations team will knock it down to give you more “thinking” space!
Like one globetrotter-couple who finally decided to return to SA. They came back with a handful of materials from overseas and asked the Mint Designer Renovations team to incorporate them into the revamp. The team obliged and…over-achieved! These materials were DIY units that still had to be assembled, a task the Mint team took on enthusiastically. They carefully followed the instructions that came with the Ikea unit, unpacking and assembling everything on site which deserves a thumbs up in our book!
Going the import route, like this couple did, was a very good idea. Mint Designer Renovations puts it out there that their kitchen remodelling turned out to be more cost effective than sourcing materials at local retail shops and having the kitchen custom designed. But, be warned! Anything can happen while your goods are en route on a cargo ship, plan or whatever means of shipping you decide on. So what could be cheaper could also have expensive reprecussions. Choose your shipping company wisely!
And as for cutting costs…Mint Designer Renovations will not go as far as cutting corners to save you money, as did the previous renovators of the house. Upon stripping the floors, the team discovered that irregular building practices were used. This didn’t stop the Mint team. Remedial work was commenced immediately with all the cracks in the floors fixed, and irregular brickwork and electrics realigned. This made the home far safer than when the couple purchased it.
Mint Designer Renovations is great at creating space. They gutted both the living and sleeping areas - the sliding doors leading from the livingroom to the garden being moved farther out and a dining area was added, while the en-suite bathroom was extended over the existing balcony. And the entire family was brought closer via an interleading door to the children’s bedroom. We also love the idea of creating little passageway from the children’s room to the parent’s room – true VIP fashion!
