This year we have been told time and time again that we need to personalize our décor. No more matchy matchy. We now need to show our personality through our furniture and décor choices. There is no more conforming to the general rule regarding a specific room’s décor because we are not robots! Quirky is in! hooray!
Now one of the best ways to achieve a real sense of lived in, personality filled space is to go eclectic. This wonderful mix and match style affords you the right to whip out that old cherry wood bureau of your grandpa’s, put it next to your cookie monster blue furry been bag, couple it with a Persian you picked up in Marrakech and a couple strategically placed fichus, picture frames and scatter cushions, and still be trendy! Pop a chandelier and some candles into that mix and you may even have achieved Romantic eclectic, which, in my humble opinion, is the best eclectic there is because it combines so many different things!
Now a person hears the word romantic and their immediate thought is all girly pink with flowers! Not so! Romantic eclectic is a different thing altogether and here below, are the images to prove it!Take notes if you must, but here are a couple wonderful ideas for you on how to achieve a real romantic eclectic look with out the all pink and flowers!
Alright so this picture does have some pink and a few flowers, but not nearly as much as you were expecting! I love the chandelier and the mismatched and repainted cabinetry, and the wooden birdcages in the background. The wicker dining set is also a lovely, soft touch.
Here the romantic eclectic décor is a touch more modern, with that gorgeous red framed mirror in the background. The thing to take note of in this image is the wonderfully textured look achieved by using all the mixed and matched patterns!
I just love the contrast of raw red brick walls and fabulous patterned wall paper, wooden floors and chandelier combined with a contemporary white plastic dining set. Very eclectic

No romance for me..
