When commissioned to turn a small pump room into one meant for sleeping guests, it would seem that Mint Designer Renovations had bit off far more than they could chew. Who knew that this design team had such a big appetite for revamps? They had their cake and ate it too going far beyond what we could have ever imagined!
But first…why on Earth would the owners of this home want to turn a dank pump room into a guest bedroom? Well, it could be because it’s always nice to have some extra space for the in-laws. No, that’s not it. Wait a minute! Mint Designer Renovations says that this particular area of the house has a magnificent view of Clifton’s 2nd beach. Now guess who’s going to fight about who gets that room on next holiday?
Mint Designer Renovations had to perform a root canal on the space clearing out a disused jacuzzi, dilapidated sauna, several pool pumps and general items being stored. And after doing all that, they realized there was nerve damage in the form of a leak! But they patched it up and quickly went about their renovation.
Seeing that space was limited, the Mint Designer Renovations team had to take every inch of it into consideration. The pump’s pipes were re-routed and the pump concealed beneath their custom-made bed base. Good thinking! Now what about the noise from the pump? Can you believe these quick thinkers soundproofed the bed base? Wow.
This stylish uber-contemporary guest bedroom en-suite was fitted with an aircon, suspended TV with surround sound and a shower that doubles up as a steam room! Is this a guest room of a house or a hotel because…we’re confused?!
We, at HometoLife, would gladly sleep in a pump room…especially if it looked like this! Wouldn’t you? If you have a small space that needs a “Mission Impossible” revamp, Mint Designer Renovations is your port of call. Visit their website at www.minthouse.co.za.
