This season bedrooms are going far more colourful. While a neutral palette and pastels are still recommended in terms of the sense of peace and tranquility they bring, and because, lets be honest, neutrals are nice and safe, they are no longer the dictated norm in terms of bedroom décor! Now, you can splash out with permission! You can be a little daring with the colours you choose, pop a little more personality into you bedroom décor!
Warm colours will make your bedroom feel, well, warmer and more inviting, and the darker and more saturated the colour, the cozier the feel! Naturally there are still particular colours trends that are en vogue at the moment, these being predominantly Brown, Green and Gold, but it’s never fun to just have one colour in a bedroom unless you are really doing that colour with style! Here, for inspiration purposes, are a few of the top warm colour combinations we are seeing in bedrooms this year.
Brown and Orange
Now we’re not talking 1970’s chocolate brown and pumpkin orange, well maybe we are, but certainly we are talking about this combination with a warm 2011 twist. Using this warm colour combination in a contemporary way will give your room a warm, relaxed feel, and hell, if you did like the 1970’s feel of these two colours, go ahead and throw a little in, it is YOUR bedroom after all!
Brown and Green
Another of our top bedroom colour combination tips for the warm bedroom in putting green and brown together. This combination, drawn directly from nature, will lend a wonderful sense peace and ease to your bedroom. Nature’s never really wrong, think about how wonderful and relaxing it is to lie in an open field surrounded by nature. With this warm colour combination you can achieve that sensation with out the itchy insects!
Green and Yellow
Picture limes and lemons, maybe a little toned down if you prefer your colours a little less vivid, but that’s the general ideas behind this colour combination. It will leave you feeling refreshed as you wake up, and the green is soothing enough that you won’t have trouble sleeping! This is a top combo for either adult or children’s rooms.
Green and Blue
Blue we hear you say! But blue isn’t warm! Well yes actually, some blues are, and in combination with a lovely warm green this top colour combination is fabulous for bedroom décor! Picture a deep Mediterranean turquoise verging on teal, and combine it with a warm apple green and voila!
